“Gresham’s School (Norfolk) had an amazing week in April based at Barbados Beach Club for their pre-season Cricket tour. Sara and Don from On the ball sports were superb in their administration and preparation for the trip, and Don was with us throughout the week to check arrangements and sorted out any small issues we had instantly.

This is to let you know that Sir Garfield Sobers Cricket Masters, which has traditionally been held in Barbados every two years, will be renamed as above and moved to Antigua for 2013.

The story begins on a very damp Sunday in June 1986. Repton and Clifton were playing in a Cricketer Cup (Old Boys competition) match. The two professionals, Mike Kettle and Jim Andrew respectively, watched this dreary spectacle and lamented firstly that schools cricket so often had to be played in such awful weather, and secondly that schools such as Repton and Clifton were too far apart to play each other during the season.
